Apple used minors to build their iPhone X in China

The company acknowledges the accusations but says that they worked "voluntarily", although "they should not have been allowed to work extra hours"

   A point that Apple itself has confirmed: "In a recent audit we discovered that students work overtime in a supplier facility in China," they said in a statement published today claiming to have verified that "students worked voluntarily" and " they were compensated "but" they should not have been allowed to work overtime. "

In particular, the UK newspaper claimed that at least six students were sent to work at the iPhone X factory in Zhengzhou and that they worked 11 hours a day , a situation that violates local labor laws that prevent students from working more than 40 hours per week.

The students worked voluntarily at the factory as part of a school internship program at a plant run by Hon Hai Precision Co Ltd, also known as Foxconn, Apple confirmed.

"Our policies do not allow interns to work more than 40 hours per week on assignments related to the program, but unfortunately, there have been a number of cases in which parts of our campuses have not adhered to this policy," Foxconn says.
